I was tasked with creating a series of
playful t-shirt illustrations for this unconventional Midwestern barber
shop. The path from start to finish was a creative adventure, to say the
least, that even surprised me. The illustrations were later combined
with the company’s existing logo and type style to create a series of
advertisements for print and social media. Check out more at www.rayzbs.com.
images in this book were stitched together to show Japan through the
eyes of five foreigners living in Tokyo. No exhausted clichés like
sushi, sky-high neon signs, cute costumed girls and wacky Japan
moments...just everyday things, places and people. These understated
alleyways, local shops, neighborhood festivals and barbecues by the
river are the aspects of the real Japan we came to collectively know and
love. Text and translation by Wendi Hailey and Erika Hara. Available
for purchase at www.blurb.com.
